Hi all,

I can't remember if I've posted this issue before, forgive me if this is a repeat.

We are using the old Frontpage categories (still alot of FP components in our site) to set up an "Index" of pages in the site.

Basically we add pages to specific Workgroup categories and then use a FP web component (Page in category) on an "index page" to list the pages.

Since using EW, we noticed that Index lists are not always in correct alphabetical order, sometimes doesn't show the pages at all and now EW2 does not have a "Workgroup" tab when opening page properties so that we can add pages to categories.

Does anyone know of a solution in EW or maybe a different solution for an index-type list of html pages that can be organised according to categories/subjects?

Thanks.

Hi svanwyk,

This may sound a bit flippant..but it isn't meant to be:

Do you still have FrontPage installed? If so you could continue to use that (at times) if for nothing more than using the Workgroup function that it provides.

As an example there are many times I still open and use FrontPage because I like the way Navigation is displayed better.

Recalculate hyperlinks .. which is under tools or site depending on what version and or fp or ew... that points everything correctly and works for the toc and search so probably works for the cateagories...

You should be moving away from the bots unless you plan on staying with v3... they will be done away with as time goes by so making a start now before your site gets any bigger is the best thing . there are pleny of free sitemappers around .. i use the text outpu for http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ which i have to heavily tweak on the code .. but the output of the links is good .. make sure your page titles are good before you do as it uses the page titles to generate the anchor text.... there is proabably a better html sitemapper out there but not found one yet... and once done you just go and add the new links yourself.. as you will of course want to add some descriptive text to go with the good anchor text as all good sitemaps should be ;)
